If you’re planning a visit, consider this your ultimate guide from a fellow tourist – packed with everything you need for an ideal, unforgettable travel time!

Getting There & Around: Smooth Journeys!

Arrival at Dresden Airport (DRS)

Landing at Dresden Airport (DRS) was a breeze. From there, getting to the city center is super easy. The S-Bahn (S2 line) takes you directly to Dresden Hauptbahnhof (main train station) in about 15-20 minutes. A single ticket costs around €2.50 — €3.00. Taxis are also readily available, costing roughly €20-€25 to most central locations.

Train & Public Transport

Dresden Hauptbahnhof is well-connected to major German cities (e.g., Berlin via ICE, around 2 hours, €20-€60 depending on booking) and even Prague (around 2 hours 15 minutes, €15-€40). Once in the city, Dresden’s public transport (trams and buses operated by DVB) is excellent. A single ticket is about €2.50 — €3.00, a day ticket is around €6.00 — €7.50, and a 3-day ticket about €15.00 — €18.00.
