Malta: A Mediterranean Gem I Can’t Wait to Revisit!

Just got back from an absolutely magical trip to Malta, and I’m already dreaming of my next visit! This small island nation in the heart of the Mediterranean has completely captured my heart. • St. John’s Co-Cathedral: From the outside, it looks modest, but step inside and prepare to be awestruck by its opulent Baroque interior, especially Caravaggio’s masterpiece, ‘The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist’.
• Upper Barrakka Gardens: Perfect for panoramic views of the Grand Harbour, the Three Cities, and the daily Noon Saluting Battery.

Gozo & Comino: Island Paradises

No trip to Malta is complete without visiting its sister islands. We took a short ferry ride to Gozo, which is much greener and more tranquil than Malta. Victoria (Rabat) with its impressive Cittadella offered stunning 360-degree views. We also explored Dwejra Bay, where the famous Azure Window once stood, and enjoyed the peaceful countryside.

The highlight for many (including us!) was definitely Comino and its legendary Blue Lagoon. The water here is an indescribable shade of turquoise – so clear and inviting! We spent hours swimming, snorkeling, and just soaking up the incredible atmosphere. It’s truly a slice of paradise and a must-do for any visitor.

Food & Culture

Maltese cuisine is a delightful blend of Mediterranean influences. We feasted on delicious pastizzi (flaky pastries filled with ricotta or peas), fresh seafood, and traditional rabbit stew. The locals were incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile or a story.

Final Thoughts

Malta exceeded all my expectations. It’s a country rich in history, blessed with natural beauty, and filled with friendly people.
