Just returned from an absolutely breathtaking trip to Krabi, Thailand, and I’m still floating on cloud nine! I spent an incredible week exploring its wonders, and I want to share my comprehensive guide and review to help you plan your ideal travel time.

Getting There & Around: Smooth Transfers & Local Rides

Krabi International Airport (KBV) is well-connected. Getting from the airport to your accommodation is straightforward:

• Airport Shuttle Bus: My preferred budget option. They wait outside the terminal and can drop you off at major points in Ao Nang or Krabi Town. ~150-200 THB per person.
• Shared Minivan: A bit quicker than the shuttle, often arranged by tour operators or kiosks at the airport. ~150-250 THB per person.
• Private Taxi: For convenience, especially if traveling with family or lots of luggage. Expect to pay ~500-700 THB to Ao Nang or Krabi Town.

Local Transport:

• Songthaews (Baht Buses): The most common local transport, essentially pick-up trucks with benches. They run fixed routes between Ao Nang and Krabi Town, and other local areas. ~20-60 THB depending on distance.
• Tuk-Tuks: More expensive than Songthaews for shorter distances, good for custom routes or late-night travel. Always negotiate the fare beforehand!
• Longtail Boats: Your essential ride for island hopping and reaching places like Railay Beach. Fares are usually fixed per person for popular routes, or can be chartered.
